Are there any requirements for sending cards?
Anyone, regardless of age, is welcome to participate in The Angel Card Project! There is no minimum or maximum number of cards you must send. Whether you send one card, several cards, or cards to everyone on the Master List, the choice is entirely yours. The only requirement is that you report the total number of cards you send using the reporting link we provide.

If you're having difficulty viewing or completing one of our registration or recipient submission forms on your phone, try turning your phone sideways into landscape mode. This may make the form easier to view, scroll through, and complete.
How do I know that my submission has been entered?
After submitting your form, a confirmation message will appear indicating that your submission was received.
IMPORTANT: You may need to scroll back to the TOP of the page to see your submission confirmation.
Due to the length of our forms, the confirmation message may not be immediately visible after clicking Submit.
Please check for this message before submitting your information again.
How to sign the cards?
Please sign your name and feel free to include a personal message of kindness, encouragement, or holiday cheer.
You may sign as an individual, family, or group. Please keep all messages respectful, positive, and appropriate. Our goal is to bring comfort and joy to recipients, especially those who may be experiencing difficult circumstances.
Is it ok to send homemade cards?
Absolutely! Handmade cards are always welcome, but they are certainly not required.
Store-bought cards are perfectly fine, too! What matters most is the kindness and thought behind each card.
The Master List
The Christmas Card Master List is a compiled list of individuals who have been submitted and approved to receive cards through The Angel Card Project. Each entry includes the recipient's name, mailing address, and additional information that may help volunteers personalize their cards, such as age and the reason they were nominated.
All recipient requests are reviewed by our administrative team before being included on the list.
Volunteers may send cards to as few or as many recipients as they wish.
And yes, every person on the Master List WILL receive cards!
Does everyone on The Master List Receive a card?
YES! Every person on our Christmas Card Master List receives cards! Many recipients receive multiple cards thanks to the generosity of our wonderful volunteers. We have dedicated Card Angels who send cards to the entire list, helping ensure that no one is forgotten. Trust us to work a little Christmas magic!
Can we send gifts to the recipients?
The Angel Card Project is, first and foremost, about sending greeting cards. No gifts or additional items are expected or required. However, volunteers who wish to include small extras, such as stickers, puzzles, coloring pages, recipes, photographs, or other thoughtful surprises, are welcome to do so at their own discretion.
Please remember that the most important gift is the kindness and encouragement shared through your card.
How would the recipient know that the card is coming from The Angel Card Project?
Please indicate on the envelope or in the card that The Angel Card Project is involved.

Can we hold onto The Master List and send cards during the year to recipients?
No. The Christmas Card Master List is provided exclusively for our annual Christmas Card Project.
Recipients have given permission to receive cards as part of this specific project. Their names and mailing addresses should not be used for additional mailings throughout the year. If you would like to participate in other card-sending activities, please visit our Facebook group, where we coordinate birthday cards, special requests, holidays, and other projects throughout the year. Please respect our recipients' privacy and do not save, share, or reuse the Master List for other purposes.
The Master List Links
The Christmas Card Master List is available only to registered volunteers.
You MUST register through The Angel Card Project website before receiving access to the Master List.
Once the list is released, registered volunteers will receive an email containing download links and detailed instructions.
The Master List is available in several formats, including:
- Microsoft Word
- Rich Text Format (RTF)
- Microsoft Excel
Simply select the format that works best for you and download the file to your computer or device.

Printing The Master List
Yes! You are welcome to print the Christmas Card Master List for your own use.
Please keep in mind that the list may contain more than 20 pages, depending on the number of recipients.
Important Privacy Guidelines:
- When you have finished using your printed Master List, please shred or securely destroy it to protect recipient information.
- Do not distribute copies of the Master List to individuals who have not registered as volunteers.
- Group card-writing parties are welcome! However, the person who registered as the group's Point Person is responsible for ensuring that recipient information is handled appropriately and not shared outside the group.
Our recipients trust us with their personal information, and we ask all volunteers to help protect that trust.
Donations
The Angel Card Project is a volunteer-run organization founded by Mark Martin in 2001.
While our Card Angels provide their own cards and postage, donations help cover administrative expenses such as website hosting, printing, mailing supplies, and other operating costs. What are the totals?
Card totals are the number of cards you have mailed to individuals or facilities participating in The Angel Card Project. We ask all volunteers to report their totals so we can track how many cards are sent during our Christmas Card Project. A special reporting link will be provided for submitting your totals. If you send additional cards after submitting your original total, simply submit another report for the additional cards mailed. Please report only the new cards in your additional submission, rather than including cards you've already reported.
